About Me

Who Am I

Bron-bwMBA, BA (Hons), PMI-ACP

Digital business professional with over 10 years experience in the Australian internet, mobile and technology industries.

I work with companies to turn their online and mobile assets into sales channels, and I have proven experience in business analysis, business process improvement, strategic planning, project management (Agile & Waterfall), product management, business development and marketing and communications.

I am a motivated, a self starter, who thrives in both a business start up situation & more structured corporate environments. My strengths lie in commercial and operational management of the businesses to ensure growth and profitability.

I am a born facilitator, who excels at getting people to work together and getting the best out of people.

A picture is worth a thousand words. An interface is worth a thousand pictures.

Ben Shneiderman

Be a yardstick of quality. Some people are not used to an environment where excellence is expected.

Steve Jobs

Luck is not a factor. Hope is not a strategy. Fear is not an option.

James Cameron

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Walt Disney

To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often

Winston Churchill

The business changes. The technology changes. The team changes. The team members change. The problem isn't change, per se, because change is going to happen; the problem, rather, is the inability to cope with change when it comes.

Kent Beck; Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change; 2000

He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery

Harold Wilson

What I do

Agile Leadership - PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner

Living and leading today are much like swimming in the unpredictable, treacherous ocean waters. We dive into the water, and we never really know what is going to happen next. Although we operate under the illusion that life remains constant, clear, and under our control, this is far from reality. Everything is always changing, and often situations and choices are unclear, uncertain, even murky.

To succeed in our volatile, complex, ambiguous world, we have no choice but to master our ability to adapt and learn. Agile leaders share some key characteristics including
  • * Mental Agility: Thinking critically to penetrate complex problems and expanding possibilities by making fresh connections.
  • * People Agility: Understanding and relating to other people, as well as tough situations to harness and multiply collective performance.
  • * Change Agility: Enjoying experimentation, being curious and effectively dealing with the discomfort of change.
  • * Results Agility: Delivering results in first-time situations by inspiring teams, and exhibiting a presence that builds confidence in themselves and others.
  • * Self-Awareness: Being reflective and knowing themselves well; understanding their capabilities and their impact on others.

Product Ownership

"Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision" and relentlessly drive it to completion" Jack Welch, GE's former chairman and CEO. A great product owner is such a leader. To be a success a product owner is
  • * a visionary who can envision the final product and communicate the vision
  • * a doer who sees the vision through to completion. This includes working with stakeholders, articulating requirements, closely collaborating with the delivery team, evaluating work results, and steering the project by tracking and forecasting its progress
  • * a person that is comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict, playfulness, experimentation and informed risk taking

Technology & Product Development

Teams of all natures – agile software development or otherwise – need inspirational leadership to perform their best.. As technology projects become more complicated and the pressure to "do more with less" becomes the rule of thumb, the need for technology managers to be well-versed with project management best practices becomes even more critical. Ultimately, every technology leader's primary responsibility is to lead their organization to deliver quality products on time and under budget.

Bronwyn was terrific to work with - she is trustworthy because she is smart, thorough and experienced. I would not hesitate to trust her with a project, a team, a business.

Louisa Cameron

I can honestly say that I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for Bronwyn. Not only is she a phenomenal mentor, she is a great leader too. I feel privileged to have worked with Bronwyn and will always be glad that our paths crossed. She is patient, loyal and hard working. Her strengths are in project management, operations and marketing but Bronwyn can do just about anything she puts her mind to. She would be an asset to any company and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Susie Thompson

Bronwyn was brought onboard at a time when the team had a large workload across several projects and was struggling to effectively manage this workload and deliver the projects. In addition, the group was about to embark on the largest transformation project it had ever undertaken, something that would fundamentally change the strategy and operations of the businesses. It's fair to say that Bronwyn hit the ground running, and never looked back. Immediately engaging with all stakeholders, she quickly earned their respect and trust, and almost overnight alleviated much of the stress within the project teams and business. Where there were gaps in knowledge, Bronwyn questioned and researched, and quickly learned everything required to understand the functioning and strategy of the group and technical teams. In situations that were fast moving and highly dynamic, Bronwyn was responsive, flexible, and intuitive. When the pressure was on and deadlines loomed, she was goal focused and brought calm to the project. Enthusiastic, thorough, dependable, and a great communicator, Bronwyn is one of the best I have worked with.
